What is wrong with this Beolab 4000 and Beocenter 2500 setup?

I am unable to get the shining surface on the inside towards the beocenter 2500 with the "power" light on bottom side - see picture 1.

It may not be obvious, but most of the setup pictures I have seen any where have the shiny surface inside and the speaker the grill side outside. The problem is simple to solve by rotating one speaker vertically but that will place the "power" button on the top for one and bottom for the other - see the picture 2 in the response. I did not know how to upload more than one pic

It's strange but I cannot duplicate the setup as shown on the B&O website. I am confused and need help!!

I guess I want to setup like this with the "green/red" power lights on bottom and the shiny side towards the system.

Did you purchase the speakers new, or used?  Check the serial numbers (under the speaker grille), they should match and have an L and an R on the 2 speakers.  I suspect that you have a mis-matched pair.

odd... seems either you have two of the same speaker (ie 2 lefts or 2 rights) or B&O use two of the same speaker in their photoshoots. I don't have lab 4000s anymore, but I suspect you have 2 unmatched speakers. What do the serial numbers tell you? are they different? (I know on my lab 8000s the matching pair have the same serial numbers)

Looks like I am going back to my orginal setup - see picture

Thought I could upgrade to Beolab 4000..but made a mistake on ebay...did not pay attention. You guys are right..both of these are R speakers....Should not be a problem If I want to hang them on wall some where...does it matter in terms of output?

I also noticed that these speakers have the L and R button at the back to take care of this..is it correct.

If any one interested in getting them from me...let me know

    Thanks

But he's in the US mate, so you'd also have to change the power supplies. :(

Might as well keep them if you can get used to having one of them upside down, or as you say, hang them on the wall. Because of their L and R switches output will be normal. Did you get them cheap?

I had no idea the BL 4000's came in left and right, I'm always learning something on this site  Smile

Made a mistake and I don't think I got cheap either. Again, its a relative question: what's cheap?

I think if you paid more than $1000 USD, then you were jipped (otherwise anything below $1000 USD is reasonable in my opinion), and you should chase up the seller on this matter... that's if the listing was inaccurate, though you weren't to know, were you! Did the seller state that he was selling 2x right hand units?
