    beomaster 6000 help needed 2252 1980s

    i have just aquired non working beomaster 6000 faults seem to lie in power supply c1 3300 mf has burst due to the volts across going up to 22volts having difficulties obtaining ic1 te1089.the smoothing caps c20#c21 weeping any assistance much appreciated  mikey b

    Hasn't 16C1 or one of the other caps just shorted or gone open circuit ?
    It's quite common to see the caps on the power supply board (module 16) go bad,
    often blowing the fuse for the low voltage transformer too.
    I suggest you replace the lot. Note that 16C1 has two of its three negative pins used !

    16IC1 doesn't have to be a TEO1089, it can be f.e. a BDX34A (with a slightly
    different casing).
    But are you sure that 16IC1 is bad ?
