    Is it or isn't it????

I bought this from a guy in the UK some time ago, and he told me it originally came from a UK B&O dealer. Is it a Beotime? Or is it just som clock a guy made in his workshop? It seems to be a real turntable platter, and the black squares that mark 3, 6, 9 and 12 on the face are rather interesting.

    Does anyone have any idea???

From what I have seen I'm pretty sure that is a converted platter, not an original beotime.

It is not B & O authentic. It appears to be a conversion.

The piece you show is missing the B&O logo, statement, red second hand, correct timepiece (on the back).

On the other hand,  if it works, and looks nice hanging on the wall, then great. I have two older B&O Beotimes and one conversion made in the UK, perhaps the same chap. The conversion still works !

    Not a Beotime, I'm afraid.
It's a platter from a Beogram 4000, with the strobo marks at the back.
It will also be much heavier than a Beotime.
The pointed hands are not correct either.

    It's very heavy!!

Would you believe, just after I took the third photo it slipped in the glass shelf and the clock mechanism broke in to about a million pieces [:'(]

So now I need to find a mechanism for it.... If anyone knows where I could get one can you please let me know??

    Bad Luck!  Sad

On the plus side, a new mechanism should cost you about the same as a packet of potato crisps! Big Smile

As everyone said, it's not a genuine Beotime - but it still looks funky Smile

Soak it in very hot water for a couple of minutes & the heavy cast aluminium part will split from the platter & make it much easier to hang. I have made a few replicas with good results in the past so if you need any advice just ask.

    Here's one of them.

Quite a few home-made ones out there.  I'd suspect this is another one.
