The Making of Beovision 10 (movie clip)

Hi, just spotted this on the B&O site ... no voice, just music, showing the production line for the BV10

(I hope this copy & pasted link will launch the video for you)

((It does, link takes you to the correct B&O website page, just wait for the Flash clip to start loading))

    Enjoy

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Lot of emphasis on that precision [picture] frame assembly!

Guessing they could have made it more interesting... Picture frame assembly or TV assembly?

I'm a bit embarrassed to say but that video gave me goosebumps Embarrassed That was just excellent. Maybe it feels even more dramatic having seen the factory - that's really how this stuff is made.

I'm sorry, but if you take away all of the "aluminium frame catching the light" shots this is just any other production line facility - I certainly didn't see anything that said "precision"!

Strange, TWG - I actually thought the music didn't jibe with the scene at all! Big Smile Guess I'm not used to the style.

Leo, you're right, but I do like the track even if it doesn't match to the video ;-)

Yes, its assembled in Struer, Denmark.

Verey atmospheric but it doesn't add anything for me. The frame is actually designed to be unobtrusive, something it manages very well. I would have been more interested in the video technology and the part that B&O play in that.

well ... the sequence where the chap judge the closeness of the fit on the two pieces at the corner, tweaked them a tad, then ran his finger over the knife edge for a second time to test the sharpness/smoothness of the fit, and then tightened the screws to fix that position ... that seemed like precision to me in a very old fashioned, hand crafted, way

..................or the jigging isn't good enough to properly align the extrusions without having to manually adjust it! In any case, I wouldn't call this "precision" on even unusual - I've seen far more precise alignment jigs/fixtures used in the production of circulars saws - hardly the last word in luxury or precision!

I would have prefered the video to highlight some of the TV's technical achievements, rather than just demonstrating how shiny the aluminium is.

I will admit that at times I thought I was watching a Japanese film where the village blacksmith/swordsmith makes the local samurai warrior his latest and greatest katana Big Smile
