    Power Link/Speaker Link Adapter

Would the above set-up be possible? I don't know if there is an adapter, which can connect one power link cable with two speaker link cables?

I have to use the speaker link cables from the BC 9000 as it hasn't got power link.

Yes, they have speaker link and power link, but I'm trying to avoid having 2 speaker link cables connected to the pentas. If I can make it work the way it is in the picture, I can just have one cable to the speakers instead of two. I imagine the power link/ speaker link adapter (if there is such thing) to be two short speaker link cables splitting into one power link cable (like a Y), which would be hidden behind the BC 9000

If 2.5 hours on a Saturday morning is considered a too slow response time, Beoworld is apparently providing a great service in general Laughing

Meanwhile, I'll try to be helpful. I believe this may be a problem which cannot be solved with a simple adapter, since Speakerlink doesn't carry the power on signals that Powerlink does. It would also need to have attenuators to drop the signal from speaker level to line level.

Didn't want to be rude, but you know have it is. You have been thinking of a problem for some time, you post it to the forum and every 5 minutes you go to your pc to look for an answerEmbarrassed

I don't know much about the different link connections, but if I was able to use powerlink instead of speakerlink I wouldn't have to connect each penta to a power outlet. When I use speakerlink connections I also have to connect both pentas to power outlets

Doesn't work that way - you'll definitely have to connect both speakers to the mains, even if you use Powerlink! If that is a problem, perhaps you could have a longer mains cable made somewhere and at least get rid of the extension cord.

I was of course just joking about the reply speed. It is amazing though how you often get an answer to a problem in just minutes!

    Re: Power Link/Speaker Link Adapter

I have been told that the display in the pentas will work with speakerlink. I haven't tried because I have just bought the pentas a few days ago and shall not receive them before next Wednesday. So this discussion about powerlink versus speakerlink is merely to obtain the best solution. The best solution to me also includes as little cabling as possible.
