    beolink wireless question

When installing the wireless modules, one is sender and one reciever.

I thought that wirth beolink you can have audio/video masters anywhere in the chain, but this in that case means that I cannot make this wireless connection between lets say a beovision that acts as a video master and beosound that is audio master and expect these sources to be able to exchange information / sound since I can only send data one way right?

I mean I might want to listen to tv news in kitchen and hear radio from kitchen in tv-room

    Re: beolink wireless question

I installed a B&O house wireless system when the products were new to the market. Living room, den, bedrooms and kitchen, and at some expense.

The wireless signals or devices had problems with other appliances in the house. You might think of a room having one wireless " field " and what can happen when another appliance ( cellphone, microwave oven, computer, keyboard, etc. ) is then introduced into the same field. I call it the Theremin effect, as in the 1928 instrument . It was first an annoyance, starting with scratchy or zapped music, and then when we lost calls, a real pain.

As M-L products were also coming more into line, we decided to yank the wireless and make, and pull our own ML cable runs. We found a buyer for the wireless modules, and the expense of the cabling was in comparison next to nothing.  Lee at Lifestyle AV provided very smart BOSCOM wall plates to connect rooms and floor levels, and make the overall job finish look better. The B&O speaker sound in all rooms is as one would expect, clean, constant, and not subject to interference. This includes the telephones as well.

Perhaps the newer modules have eliminated this problem, but given the new devices on the market each moth, and the frequencies utilized, I doubt it. Take this as helpful information.

If it works for you, go for it.  If not, plan it out very well before plunging in.

No, not in a wireless chain.

The Video Master and the Audio Master must share a common ML connection and the BeoLink Wireless 1 transmitter (the "wireless master" if you like) must also share that master link connection.  The connection does not necessarily need to be point to point (i.e. not a direct wire), for example my ML splits from my BeoSound to 3 destinations: my BV, my BeoPort, and my BeoLink Wireless.

However another thought is that my Beovision does pick up some radio channels ... have you checked whether your Beovision can ?

Some BVs can receiver FM; mine receives radio stations that transmit using a digital format - not DAB+, but another format, so you may be lucky.

Alternatively, my Mac's Elgato Hybrid does tune into those same digital stations and FM, and so I could use LinkPlayer to get that audio to link speakers - so perhaps you can too?

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    Re: beolink wireless question

    Thanks for the info

I think I´ll skip the wireless thing since who know, maybe i´ll put a radio in my kitchen soon and then I want to stream audio both ways. Right now I plan to put a beovision 6 there. Not a beocenter that is...

You say I might be able to pick up radio ? How do I search / store them in the tv then? I have plenty of netradiostations when my computer is on so that´s no problem, but when I have friends at my place sometimes, I like the convenience of regular radio since I dont want people to have to "fight" with me sitting at the computer just for them to get radio in kitchen, seems a little bit to unnessecary.

My tv has some kind of small thread coming out the back (white) ending with a coaxial connection, should I connect a radio antenna there and try? It does not say on the plastic cover sticker what this connection does and it is not the video coaxial I´m talking about.

What is the model of the TV currently in the kitchen ?

The BeoVision 6-26 has a built-in FM radio, see Beocentral BeoVision 6 Family page

    Hi

its not a beocenter as the link describes, mine is a standard beovision 6 lcd

Actually I just believe that it is the link tv-out since it is inverted compared to tv-signal-in

I tried connect a radio antenna cord but nothing happened when pressing radio
