Beovision 7-40 and projector in different room

Is it possible to have a BV7-40 in one room, and have a projector in another room, and use the cinemafunction. Thinking of having av bv7-40 with 7-2 in one room, and projector, BL9, BL7-4 and BL3 in another. Is it possible to use the tv and the proector at the same time, with different sources? Also to different soundsetup at the same time?

"Is it possible to have a BV7-40 in one room, and have a projector in another room, and use the cinemafunction."

Yes. But you can`t control the system from 2nd room, because there is just one IR eye.

No. FORMAT 0 (or Cinema button on Beo5) toggles beteween TV- and Cinema mode.

"Also to different soundsetup at the same time?"

No. It also switches between the two sound setups.

This was discussed some time ago also in Scandinavian Forum - if I remember correctly.

Ok, thanks, but what about 7-2 in one room, and 7-4 in another? Can I use the full surrond setup with the projector? And isn't it possible to connect an IR-eye from the cinemaroom to the livingroom?

No problem. You can assign two different center speakers.

"Can I use the full surrond setup with the projector?"

Yes. Should be possible. If I remember correctly you can connect and assign up to 12 speakers. So even two complete different 5.1 setups should be possible.

"And isn't it possible to connect an IR-eye from the cinemaroom to the livingroom?"

Yes. You can connect an external IR eye, but the internal eye will be automatically disconnected.

There is a lot of information in the BS3 service manual - available here on the PRODUCTS site.

Re: Beovision 7-40 and projector in different room

    hi there

this is a set up i looked at and discovered that the internal IR switches off when you use an external one

is there no Y cable to connect 2 IR receivers to the TV

that woudl be a lovely solution, (except when you want all speakers on in a link senario)
