    speakers compatible with beocenter 7000

    Hiya,

Are beovox RL45.2 passive speakers compatible with a beocenter 7000 record player?  I'm sure they are but I wanted to double check before buying.

    Thanks,

Re: speakers compatible with beocenter 7000

    Hi R,

The Beocenter 7000 is a complete system with record player, cassettedeck, tuner and amplifier in very high build - and sound quality,
even compared to most modern systems.
The RL45.2 speakers will be fine for this system.
Actually, the Beocenter 7000 will drive even very large speakers with ease and that would sound even better.

Another question:  how much is reasonable to pay for B & O MMC 20 CL Cartridge and Stylus.  Or MMC20EN or MMC20E or MMC20S stylii?

    Thanks.

This is a very difficult question. The problem is that all these cartridges will be 20 - 30 years old. You can buy new ones at Soundsmith and I think their prices are very reasonable for what are hand made cartridges. Axel on the other hand can re tip any of these cartridges - which you choose is really a matter of taste. Axel makes cartridges which sound like B&O used to - Soundsmith has moved the sound on and have a much more modern slant with lots of perceived detail.
