    Beocord 5000 rescue project

Looks like one of our good friends has come up with what seems to be a
superb and fairly simple solution to the tape eating problems with the early Beocord 5000's.
I don't dare to think how many of these wonderful design pieces were
discarded because of their tendency to break tapes.

Worth having done if you own one and definitely worth a read, even if you don't:

He told me he was doing this - sacrilige! Big Smile Essentially turning a Beocord 5000 into the tape player out of a BC4000. Still wouldn't trust it mind you!

Yes, but Beocenter 4000's aren't too plentyful and the deck used in them is doing a fine job as part of one of
the better radio/cassette combo Beocenters. A wonderful machine in its own right.

I also like the fact that this Beocord 5000 modification seems to be fully reversible.

    Re: Beocord 5000 rescue project

I have been talking to Tim about trying to restore a Beocord 5000 - I have two of the things (and a BC 4000).  He sent me the link as above.  He also, rather cruelly, suggested Two Beocord 5000s, that's one too many, just like having one of them... ",

I still think they're beautiful, but I'm beginning to resign myself to looking at them rather than using them in anger.
