MX 7000 IMP Unable to control it via Beolink remote

I have just bought my parents a MX 7000 IMP.TELETEXT MCMXC11 acc:SW3.1 BZ19CE ITEM NUMBER 1840196 serial number 12343188 as a treat, however I am unable to control it via their Beolink remote.

I am unable to tune channels in or adjust sound, other than the volume, I am also unable to adjust the picture settings, the previous owner was using the set with a BEO4. I have a Beovison MX7000 MK11 and LX6000 at home and have not encountered this problem with other sets which I have owned.

My parents can view  the set via the digibox, video and DVD, is this a link set or a software problem?

Advice and comments are more than welcome, thanks folks! Hope I don't have to treat them to my Beo4 as well!

    Kind regards

Sounds you may have an early 7000 with beolink 1000 software, I can't tell from the numbers.

With the tv on try pressing GO TO and then ^. It should then start searching up the tuning scale.. When it finds a station with good reception press the required channel number and STORE, STORE.

Do the same for the other channels as required.

It is an MX7000 IT Type 7802 from between 1996 and 1999. It would normally use a Beo4 so I guess your parents are using a Beolink 1000. Should still work though! Is it set the correct option which is Option 1 if it is a stand alone set not linked.

Re: MX 7000 IMP Unable to control it via Beolink remote

    Hi Peter and Joey,

Thanks for the advice! the goto option does not seem to work with the remote my Dad has, Dark grey/brown Beolink

How do I set it to option 1, It is not being used as a link set, I have a few Beolink 1000's I can try before parting with my Beo4!

    Kind regards

PICTURE 1 STORE when the set is in standby.

If you have a Beovision Video Terminal or "Mars Bar" remote then it won't work.

If you have a Beolink 1000, when you press MENU on the remote, what do you get on the screen?

If you don't have MENU on the remote try SHIFT then TEXT

You should then get 4 options, one of which is SETUP where you should be able to tune the set.
