Another White Beomaster 2000 saved (with help from Martin (Dillen))
First pics of my newly acquired white Beomaster 2000 (with temporary aerial and speaker connections!)
Found on a small ads Danish website for 250kr! Sold as 'No lights, so assumed faulty.' In the event, no lights meant literally no lights (no lenses etc) and a whole host of other problems. Martin (Dillen), did a full overhaul, and in an amazingly short time had new lights caps etc etc fitted. (My acquisition was inspired by John Barker's BM2000 and the numerous high ratings given on Beoworld. The white finish is probably nowhere near as robust as the teak or rosewood, but it goes with current furnishings!)
Few anxious days when the Beomaster got lost on the postal tracking system having been incorrectly relabelled by some idiot at Parcelforce for Leeds area (LS) instead of Liverpool (L) on entering the UK.
Apart from the tiniest of blemishes on the front white strip (carefully touched-up by a previous owner) the receiver is just about perfect. Switched it on with no aerial and it immediately pulled in half a dozen stereo signals. With rabbits ear aerial numerous stations loud and clear. Now just need to sort out a re-cap for my Beovox 2600's and get a new external aerial wired -up. Oh, and fix up a rather large support shelf. Despite having the dimensions and already owning a BM1200, I just didn't appreciate how BIG the BM2000 really is!

From Clitheroe, Reino Unido? Would that be the well-known British enclave 'Clitheroe en España' by any chance? Is your avatar is just having a well-earned break? (Or maybe you have accidentally set off on a voyage on HMS Illustrious ???)

A lovely thing, Graham My two teak Beomasters told me to ask you if she can iron?
In the lower picture, the tuning wheel seems not to be quite flush with the panel. If this is indeed the case, try pushing it down a little - you might hear a "click" and see an immediate improvement in appearance. The axle can move a little during transport.

Thanks Mika,
Yes these things seem as big as ironing boards! I wonder if Andy has thought about this model?
I'll try pressing the wheel down as you suggest. When the BM2000 arrived in the post a couple of keys looked as if they were at odd angles, but they relocated with a click into their horizontal positions once they had been pressed. (I seem to recall reading somewhere on the forum that the keys are offset from the switches underneath.)

I think that was me... it's a design issue. The actual switch bank has three places per two keys, every third place unoccupied - so the keytops are installed offset. They are glued on the switch shafts and apparently some of yours are loose then. The OFF key is different, it has a separate plastic "carrier" which allows it to pop back up after the key has been pressed.
Not a big issue as long as you don't lose the keys! They could be reglued with two component epoxy, but it will be very difficult to get them to sit flush (I tried with my other BM2000, which is actually more of a parts machine; some of the keys are missing and the tuner is dead).

What a beauty! Glad to hear Dillen helped you out. One of Beoworld's greats in my opinion!
Beoworld's twenty-eighth ninth prize winner and fifty-first second prize winner. Best £30 I've ever spent!

Very nice - and yours will have a fully lit tuning display I assume? That's the only thing lacking on mine...
They look so modern in the white trim - I'm sure you're a happy man :)

Bravo Graham!
A real beaut!
Hmmm... I have -ZERO- B&o in white! I need to rethink that!

Re: Another White Beomaster 2000 saved (with help from Martin (Dillen))
Thanks Guys!
Just won a pair of white S45's on eBay (which were the originally recommended speakers for the BM2000). Sold by another Beoworlder. Looks like I'll be ordering another crossover caps kit from Martin.
[Thankfully SWMBO really likes the white B&O and I haven't had too bad a time over these latest purchases!]
