    B&O finances & New Products: Chairman's Report

Chairman's report given at the September 2009 AGM [here] (in English).

Useful reminder of company finances and proposed/ new products.

    Thanks for posting this.

Interesting, BV 7 55 in December and the subwoofer in Spring.

The new Music system is mentioned for Summer, but what is confusing to me is that it talks about linking to a Beosound 5 like it talks linking to an Ipod.

I imagine it has some sort of control element in it, similar to what we have in car audio systems to control an ipod. The Beosound 5 doesn't carry any music, it is just a control unit. Linking to a Beomedia and controlling that similar to linking to an Ipod would make more sense to me ....

Makes me wonder if that "Beosound 5 Light" unit really exist or if the new audio system just becomes a front end to Beosound 5 / Beomedia 5 like it probably will become for the ipod.

I also like to know if the BS5 sells that well .... I like the design and the UI but need better Apple integration as stressed so often (gapless playing with AAC, do you hear me B&O?)

... maybe a B&O version of Sonos, perhaps? Sal
Love B&O, but no longer addicted.

I had read on BeoWorld that a new software update would come out at end of september for BeoMaster 5: any news on that? It's been one month, and nothing out yet...

To me all PC-based B&O software could at least offer an auto-level feature, to adjust the dynamics on all tracks to a similar level, something found on several other brands: it bothers me to turn the volume up when listening to Abba, then down when playing Enigma..Stick out tongue

Not to mention the long-awaited display of track/artist names when playing NRADIO: all other Internet radio softwares offer this!

Something I would find very neat would be to use the BM5 as a platform for the Beo5 Remote.

Imagine programming the buttons on your Beo5 and then the icon images are automatically tagged to the Beo5 buttons, BS5 display (N.Radio especially) and possibly a similar display on your TV/BS5 with TV/SAT/Cable icons. The channels are then also ordered and programmed into the hardware.

    That would be integrated!

I have been told that BM5 update should come end of October......lets hope.
Should fix a lot of problems, i.e. when starting up the BM5 from link room it does not always start, sound humming issue when connected to TV and much more.
But I have not heard about new features, I am still waiting for the option to call PC in our link room (via BV8-32) and from here navigate around in Albums, Radio Stations etc.

    There is something about B&O.....
