Cool [H] apple's market share doubles in 3 years

In a sidebar accompanying the article "iPhone mania nears fever pitch," which we'll get to in a moment, USA Today reports that "home computermarket share" for Apple Mac in May 2004 stood at 3.2% and has now rocketed to 7.6% in May 2007.

And it will double again, and again ... Nobody else creates computers as capable of integrating all one's digital needs, with great user friendliness.

It does worry me though that they are becoming more and more commercial. They used to be a much more personal, exclusive company, wheras now they are becoming more like Hateway Gateway and Hell Dell. Soon they'll be announcing Winfroze as their primary OS...

That's what worries me more and more lately, too. I just hope they'll at least stay as they are and not become another Microsoft ( or something similarly annoying, unfriendly and breakable ).

I would say their software is just as unfriendly (to the rest of the world) as MS.  Ok, it works a lot better, doesn't crash as much and is far easier to use, but their proprietary ways are very annoying.  The hoops I must jump through to get songs my kids have purchased from the iTunes music store on to my BS3 is upsetting...

that's not apple's fault , blame the greedy record companies and their insistence on drm

with 'itunes plus' you can now buy songs drm free and in 256 k quality

plus bno's beoplayer is a joke compared to itunes , strange how bno have powerbooks in their brochures yet don't support macs properly..

As the flappy grate says, that's the record companies, not Apple. If it wasn't for Apple + DRM, online music wouldn't have really taken off. Apple are moving away from that, and SJ himself has said he doesn't like DRM. And you think Apple are a pain, try WMP + ripping a CD. It applies protection automatically, and Microsoft have said they have no intention of removing DRM, and even indirectly said Apple should stop complaining about it...
