    HELP NEEDED!! Beogram 9500 issue

    Hello All,

Really needing some help on behalf of a chap who purchased my BeoGram 9500 MMC2 turntable deck recently.

Prior to selling I had it hooked up to my BeoCenter 9500 (which I have also sold (separately)) and all worked super.

The guy thats received the Beogram however is messaging me for help saying that he can get no sound from it...

I've established that he is using it with a BeoCenter 9500 ; he has loosened the transportation screws ; all functions are operating correctly ; all functions are also working correctly from remote control.

He is describing that the Stylus is 'gliding across the record, then returning to rest' without playing at all.....

I dont know what could be the problem here - as it worked perfectly for me.

Could anyone suggest a resolution to this problem.

    Regards,

    Michael

    1. The little clear protective shield in front of the needle ?

    2. Tracking force ?

Or...........your customer has %&%^^ the stylus and is now being a smart ***!!

    Stranger things have happened.

I have even had "Houdini" packaging and from an unopened box!!

    Graham,

Do you think I should suggest to him buying/trying another stylus..?

Say the stylus is damaged & you attempted to play a record.. what would happen?

    Thanks,

    Michael

Could be exactly as you describe if the cantilever/suspension has been damaged.

Could have happened in transit or through clumsyness or could be as Dillen's post!

The older I get, the more cynical I become!!
