B&O Greece - Impressions and BeoCom 4 Service

]B&O greece have a new main building with showroom and service centre, its situated outside Athens in a very green area near  the motorway, building is of a minimalist design with a swimming pool and 3 levels, looks very nice i must say . The service guys  there set up for me  a BeoSound 9000 with a pair of 8000s with the floor stand , aerials etc , at home, i was very pleased with their work . Today i picked up my BeoCom4 it had quite a few marks and scratches and therefore i had replaced all the plastic external parts , new european mains ( i had  a UK one before) , new keypad ,basically all external parts  for 90 euros its like having  a totally brand new phone!!!

B&O Greece i should add , they have a small museum too with old units dating from the 50s to today with a lot of 70s and 80s retro items , a very nice pair of active pentas too which caught my attention. Quite a few old advertisements / posters too which is a nice touch . Very stylish and comfortable lounge, great coffee and friendly stuff. Smile

Hi George... I am curious to know where the new dealership is located as I only knew about the dealer in Glyfada previously? You mention its outside of Athens near the motorway so I am assuming its on the way to Corinthos and Patra direction? Where are you situated? I have some old Beo 4 covers I can send you for free if you want them. The colours are grey and black. Just send me a PM with your address to post to. They are in excellent condition.

I wish I knew where to find B&O posters and ads, I do enjoy collecting things like that in general. I have found great trouble with hunting down B&O examples...

Hello, it is located in Affidnes right opposite the Tolls station at the national road from athens to lamia,  there is a huge banner on top of building advertising B&O. Cheers, Simon

    Hello,

I come quite offen in Thessaloniki and I have to say that (although the shop is small) the staff there is very friendly and helpfull.

Here in France we have also small B&O shops and we would like to have one like the one you described in Athens. Do you have some photos to post?

    Hi Simon,

You seem to know how to open the BeoCom 4. I have some dust under the plexi glass (above the screen). How do you proceed?

Is it possible to clean it?

    Regards.

    Hi Benoit,

Its just plastic so you can clean it with a soft damp cloth. I use a glass cleaner which is fine.

    Cheers,
    Simon.

I thought the covers came off pretty easily Benoit on both sides? What part are you having problems with? You should be able to reach the underside without problems.

I didn't want to force on the cover to open it but I'll try to do it.

    Thank you Simon.

Well done. Please note that the cover with the plastic (glass) part is expensive to replace if you have any scratches or permanent marks; not worth thinking about in my opinion. B&O dealers were recently giving away the back covers but I think most have run out now although its still worth asking around. If you want any replacement back covers I have several black and dark grey ones in excellent condition. Just send me a PM and they are yours.

    Best wishes,
    Simon.
