TRANSFER LPs FROM BEOGRAM 4002 TO IMAC

Please advise what procedure/modifications are required (if at all possible) to set up my Beogram 4002 to transfer old LPs direct to my IMac and then be able to create CDs playable on any CD player - auto and/or home. Note: my record deck hasn't been used for many years and I don't know if I need an amp or can go direct from the record deck.
    Thank you.

The simplest way is to use an amplifier with a dedicated record player input and feed the tape output to the iMac. Use Toast and CD Doctor to convert the audio input to .WAV files and convert them to either CDs or digital tracks on your computer. Check your deck is working first!! I use this method a lot using a Beogram 4004 and a Beomaster 5500 (a good amp to use as it has lots of input and output connections!)
