    Speaker fabric

Looking for speaker fabric to recover some 8000s and 6000s. Anyone know of a good supplier? What weight fabric do B&O use?

    Cheers

In the Netherlands B&O can deliver the original fabric.. So you don't have to buy new frets.

New frets for Lab 8000s cost me over $400 and I could only buy a pair No - thumbs down

Used fabric from Wilmslow Audio - Broughton Astley(???) near Lutterworth google 'em they will send out samples - covered a pair of 6000 frets with dark green - fabric weave a little coarse but for personal consumption i do not have a problem with it - took about 2 hour all in ie stripping , cleaning up and reapplying - very theraputic!

Thanks Tony. I have seen them before, thought it looked a little thick though? Does it look OK once applied?

I like your choice of Ouverture stand! Does it turn as well when you call it? Big Smile

i want to do this to my bl1's (make them white)... but i'm petrified as i have no idea how to effectively affix the fabric to the grilles...

    Re: Speaker fabric

Fabric stuck using contact adhesive before it has dried so that tension of the fabric can be maintained - system worked well over the 1.20m length on the side!

Stand for Ouverture unfortunately doesn't move - the unit sits alongside an MX7000 tv under an open plan staircase - the disparity in heights of the bottom edge of the tv and Ouverture irked me so Nobby kindly supplied a knackered turntable unit which which was stabilised with some contact adhesive on the turntable ball ringHmmBig Smile
