    Re: BeoVision 10

Trip gave us some informations a few weeks ago :

    BeoVision 10 :

40" LCD with built-in stereo loudspeakers, surround sound processor, and about a 2" depth overall.

Thinly framed (somewhat like the BeoVision 9, but apparently not as severe).

    Supposedly well under $10k USD.

Wall mountable on a built in mount.

I think it will be a serious option to replace my BeoVision 3 ! Yes - thumbs up

    You're welcome ! Laughing

Apparently, the design would be like the plasma series, BV5-BV9, with the stereo speaker under the screen.

Great technology too : new panel with LED backlight...

    Re: BeoVision 10

Not the BV8-40 right now but certainely the future BV7-52 or 55 later this year.

I don't know about the BV7-40 MKV with the new 100Hz panel...

With it's 2 inch thickness, It can't have LED backlight.

But less thick is the trend, so it is a wise decision to produce a slim one:-)

    Re: BeoVision 10

Not sure what you mean about the thickness - it's the panel which affects the thickness of the TV, not the actual backlight. My laptop has an LED backlight...

When you have real colored LED behind the screen, is needs a certain amount of space.

I suppose your laptob has white LED backlights on the sides of the screen. That is a different technique. Sony also has one television with that technique which is also slim but does not reach the specifications of LED backlight behind the screen. Compare these two :

If it is an LED version of the BV5 for a reasonable price, I would be interested. Have to see what the picture quality was like.

Is this going to be better than the 7-40 Mark III? If it is I am getting it.

    Re: BeoVision 10

I'm also eager to see the picutre live. I seen the LED backlight of a Phillips wich costs £2500. Beovision 7-32 had a better picture then that thing.

And what is really sad these days, that there is no standart for measuring picture qualitiy anymore. Everyone can just measure something in their enviroment and put some numbers on it.

    30'000 : 1 contrast for example *shrugs*

I would be wiling to pay the same sort of price an inch as I would for my Avant. That would be in the region of £7000. Taking into account inflation and currency, £8000 would be fine if I liked the design and performance.

    Re: BeoVision 10

Peter, the numbers I've heard bounced around are about the range you'd be interested in. I haven't heard anything near $10k USD so this is definitely a solid mid-price offering. The PQ is supposed to be fabulous with a scaled down video engine versus the full-boat BeoSystem 3.

My understanding is that the BeoVision 7 MKIV and the BeoVision 10 will have LED backlighting and will be the same panel. The real difference will be lower scale sound and no value adds like room DSP, MUX out, 2nd zone surround, etc. It will just be straightforward surround like 75% of people use anyway.

do you know how the is it with the ability to use a beamer in the system, as it is with the BV7.

Anyone has the lastest progress of BV-10? price, look, shape, release date... etc.

    Price: It will have one

    Shape: Yes

Release date: The existence of a release date has been confirmed

Now if that doesn't satisfy everyone then you're just being unreasonable!
