    New to B&O equipment

I'm a new member, just signed up to ask a couple questions. Forgive me if this post should be in another forum. I have discovered a very cheap Beocenter 2200 which is available for local pickup in my area. The seller says it needs a new cartridge (from what I know, these are extremely expensive to obtain), and the tape deck needs repairing. The unit itself looks to be in very good condition. Should I get this, or wait until a better model shows up, and one which is actually fully functional? Any advice would be great, thanks.

Give it a wide berth, the seller should be paying you to take it away!!

In my opinion I would wait for a better model. Look through the models on the indexed on the site and see firstly what catches your eye and what is the general consensus on that product. The Beocenter 2200 certainately is nice looking but isn't very high on performance, but I always say any entry in B&O is worthwhile.

    Good Luck

    Welcome to the forum!

When you add on the amount it would cost to get the Beocenter 2200 up and running properly  there are far better options available. The Beocenter If you like the 'all-in-one ' approach it would be worth waiting for a Becenter 5000/7000/7002/7007/7700 as they are all far better and not much more expensive these days.

For an explanation of why the Beocenter 2000/2002/2200 Music Centres are not held in very high esteem have a browse at www.beocentral.com
