Are the beomaster 5500 and the beocord 8000 compatable?? If so, is there a special cable beyond the data link cable. When I connect the units by way of the cable the beomaster freezes. Could there be a problem with the Beocord??

They should be fine - try using the Tape 2 socket on the Beomaster instead or try another Datalink cable. Clearly the problem could be with either the Beomaster, Beocord or cable! Try the cheapest bit first! Have you got a different Beocord or another source?
