beocom 6000- mixing handsets with version 1.1 and 2.5

I just got hold of a second beocom 6000 mk1 and am having trouble getting it to register with my "old style" pstn.

my original setup will de-register and register no problem. (Also 6000 mk1 -It has the version 2.5).

Any chance this could be due to the "new" handset having 1.1?

I really hope i'm missing something completely obvious! Thanks for any help...

    Hey Skiing.
Try deregistering all handsets except one, then re registering them. Their may be a latent handset in there which you don't know about.
