    BeoVision 6/BeoCenter 6 Question

Not posted on here for a long time but I would be grateful if any one has any information on the following.

I notice that the BeoCenter 6 is no longer listed on the Bang & Olufsen website.  I had hoped in the near future to purchase one once it had a Digital TV tuner as standard and opt for the DAB Radio Module too.

So can anyone tell me when we are likely to see a Digital TV tuner as standard (No Analogue) in the BeoVision 6 and if it would still be possible to add a DAB Radio Module to give me the system I was hoping for in one compact unit.

    Re: BeoVision 6/BeoCenter 6 Question

    Hi Dave

The BeoCenter6 (with optional Freeview or DAB) is now discontinued. It is no longer possible to specify a radio option in this model, hence it has reverted to it's BeoVision name.

The 23" of either model was never going to be available with Freeview anyway, I believe this was due to the limited amount of space inside the cabinet.

It's ironic that B&O released BeoVision8 40 with integrated HD Freeview module only for the powers that be to then decide to adopt a different platform for Terrestrial HD. Then they discontinue a TV with a DAB option just as a report is released suggesting that the BBC may move all of its radio stations to DAB.

    Who would be a manufacturer???

Thanks for your reply.  It is such a shame that this has been discontinued.

I would have thought that it would be easy to make a TV like a PC so you can swap different tuners in an out as the technlogy moves on with different broadcast formats. Surely the main tuner could be like the optional ones to suit individual requirements.

May be we may see another BeoCentre again in the future, a modern style BeoCenter 1 would be a realy great product, with a flat pannel screen, DVB-T Tuner, DAB Radio and may be even a CD/DVD.  It would appeal to allot of people like me who want a compact system for all sources.

Oh well, I live in hope....
