I have a Beosystem 5500 cabinet but I can't find any info about it on the net at all - It's definately a genuine Bang & Olufsen product.

It is basically a cabinet with a smoked glass door on the front and a metal box section on the rear for cable management. It also has an integrated power supply for the four components.

Has anyone seen one before? Or have any more info?

Heres some pics - You can see that the rear cover is adjustable to suit the amount of components you have.

How strange! I've never seen one before, I've only seen the beautiful SM50 and the not-so-beautiful ST6500/7000.

It's obviously designed especially for the bs5000, but are you sure it's really made by b&o? It somehow doesn't feel like 100 % b&o

I dunno - I would say it is a genuine B&O product because of the finish of the metal, its exactly the same finish as for instance a Beogram 3500/4500 wall shelf etc. There is no makers mark that I can see although I havent looked underneath it.

There are two reasons to why I'm not sure that it's made by b&o: 1) the glass door doesn't look b&o, and 2) the fact that it's missing from the catalogues

...but I like it, it lets the bs5000 design shine and at the same time hides all cables. Clever construction, I like that you can adjust it to accomodate fewer 5000 units.
