Hi, I have a BV9 with integrated Beomedia 1 which I bought when I was living in the US ( living in Singapore now and have had everything converted by B&O so that it works here ). The Beomedia is no longer starting when I select the PC option ( just a blank screen ) on my Beo4 and before calling in the repair guys I wanted to try rebooting the Beomedia but can't figure out how to do this. I have tried unplugging and restarting the BV9 but that does not work and I can't see an on / off button anywhere at the back of the cabinet. Any ideas on how I can do this or do I need to call the engineers in ?
I am also considering whether I should get a Beomaster / Beosound 5 to replace the Beomedia 1. My experience with Beomedia 1 has been terrible ....... endless problems with set up and use meaning I have rarely used it because of the frustration it causes every time I try it. It is clear to me that Beomedia was not ready for public release and never achieved stability in the real world. My experience has made me very nervous about trusting B&O with digital media solutions ( why should I believe that the newer, more expensive solution they offer will be any better than the rubbish they sold me before ? ) even though I love their other products.
I'd like to hear from people who have the new combination on whether the Beomaster / Beosound 5 option is really reliable and usable ? Have you been able to turn it on and use it without having to endlessly fight the system to listen to music, surf the web or view photo's ? Have they really been able to produce a reliable and functional system this time or is it still an area that they have a long way to go on ?
Thanks,
Neil
