Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
Hi
First post here!
I have an MX7000 from around 1994, with a motorized stand from about 2000.
When the stand was installed, the installer set the default position for the tv to turn to when it is switched on.
This worked Great!, but unfortunately i have since moved the tv, so it now turns away from the viewing position.
From reading on the B&O website and these forums, the method of setting this stand position seems to have changed, as my tv is lacking most of the menu's discussed.
Does anyone know how set the position on the old software?
Any help would be fantastic!!
Cheers
Tom.

Hi Tom, welcome to Beoworld.
You don't say which remote you are using to control the MX7000 but have a look HERE to see if it answers your question.
Regards,
Steve

Re: Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
It's strange, i can definitely remember it being done with the Beo4, I just have no idea how! the link in the post 2 above suggested i press store twice, i tried adding the store function to the list, but it doesn't show up? it is in the list of options i can remove, but dose not show up anywhere else!
Worst case scenario, are B&O able to upgrade the software, the tv is probably due for a service anyway.

Re: Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
Well, I hope someone knows the Beo4 trick if it exists! This is one area where the designers weren't at their sharpest; similarly, if you have the newer software, you have problems controlling the stand with the older remotes.
STORE is probably one of the more "clever" Beo4 options and will only show up when the remote thinks it is relevant.
Upgrading the software would also require upgrading some module in the TV (teletext?) so I don't believe it will be practical. Getting a used BL1000 would be cheaper!

Thanks for that.
Yeah, hopefully somone will know how to do it with the beo4, seems strange a tv would ship with a remote not capable of controling all the features!
Anyway i did a quick ebay check and i can get a Bl1000 for about $40AU from the uk.

I can do that fine, its just when the tv turns on it goes to a preset location.
I am wanting to change this location.
Thanks though!

with the tv on, use the STAND + << >> to move it to the viewing position desired, press STORE twice...
EDIT... scratch that! i see you already tried!
hate to keep guessing, i will have access to try later tonight, but...
have you tried the move, then pressed GO
i am sure i have done this w/ a beo4???

Yep! its a tricky one isnt it! i have 2 beo4's one that came with the tv, and another which came with my BS9000 2 or 3 years ago, not sure which one i just tried with but i will try with the other tomorrow (its midnight here) , i think the store method is on the right track.

Re: Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
When all else fails... I tried looking into the Beo4 user manual. Seems the Beo4 STORE is actually used to store teletext pages (and light setups) - if you first select TEXT, STORE comes out in LIST. It may need following up with GO to actually send something. And you might need to cover the transmitter while pressing TEXT so that the TV doesn't see it and drop out of the stand adjusting mode!
I dunno if it really sends the same command as STORE in BL1000 - I can check it later tonight when I get home if the question is still open...

Re: Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
I have just spent 10 minutes trying to so it with Beo4 Mika, but strugged a bit. If you add V Setup to your list, you can get 'Store' to appear whilst in picture mode. Picture twice will bring the stand into play. Storing it as position '0' is the problem. Keep playing, I'm sure it will be possible. Oh, and welcome to BeoWorld Tom, I'm sure between us we will get you sorted.

Re: Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
I have now verified that STORE of Beolink 1000 in video mode sends exactly the same command as Beo4 STORE after TEXT, so this should work
But you probably really need to prevent the TV from seeing the TEXT command. Then just LIST until you have STORE displayed and press GO-GO to send a double STORE.

Re: Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
Ok, so i have discovered the beo4 i have been trying with, is the new one, EE: 6.1 Sw: 5.0
This is still not allowing me to access store even after pressing text. I am thinking they have changed support for the old tv's in the later updates.
I am in the process of searching for the original beo4 which shipped with the tv, we have just moved so it could still be in a box somwhere.
Thanks again for everyones help.

Re: Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
My Beo4 is definitely older than that so it may be different in yours... How about Jandyt's idea of V.SETUP, can you list to STORE after that? I checked and it also sends the same command. So the whole sequence would be list to V.SETUP, GO, list to STORE, GO, GO...
Don't give up! We will prevail!

Re: Setting default stand position for 1994 MX7000
Worked it out!
Found the old Beo4 (EE 4.2, SW:4.4)
Heres what to do, if anyone ever needs it.
*************************************************************
In TV mode, Repetitively Press List until you reach V.Setup
Press ok
Then continue to press list until you reach Picture
Press ok
The TV will say stand in the top left corner.
Rotate the stand left or right to the desired position using the << and/or >>
Press ok
Press exit
***********************************************************
