    Hi Beoworld!

I feel a little bit guilty because I’ve been reading these Beoworld forums for ages and never got round to registering and getting involved. I find them so useful (and entertaining) that I knew I would at some point pluck up the courage to start posting - and I have decided that now is the time…

This is because, although I have been into B & O in a massive way for 14 years, (I still remember that moment when I first encountered B&O like it was yesterday) and own a number of wonderful B & O toys – my enthusiasm for B & O has just hit an all-time high. Why? Because I saw on Saturday (having not been to a B & O dealer for a very long time) the wonderful Beovision 8 40” – what a TV! Everything I could’ve wanted – unique design, superb technology, amazing picture AND great value at just £3,500, including a BEO 5!

I ordered one on the spot and it’ll be delivered soon – and I really cannot wait. There is nothing quite like ordering a new B & O product.

I also took the time to play with the Beosound 5 which I really loved too, and I must say it really does feel like Bang & Olufsen is back and better than ever!

Anyway all of this got me thinking and realising in fact just how much I’ve enjoyed B & O products over the years, and also, the tips I’ve picked up here. Too many to list, but I thought I must post something to say thanks to you all.

I’d like to say a big thank you to the Beoworlder who posted about SOMA FM, because I’ve been addicted to their N.Radio stations ever since! And also, all the other Beoworlders who’ve passed on such good advice.

I wanted to thank you all, and thought I should pass on a top tip of my own…

But the only thing I can think of is recommending playing the song ‘Again’ by a band called ‘Archive’ on the Beolab 5s. Just incredible. Hope you enjoy it!

Delighted that you are so positive - where are you going as I thought the Salisbury shop had closed? I agree that the BV8-40 does seem to be good value - you seem to have got a bargain there!

Have you discovered Spotify yet? Streams any music you like to your computer and on to your system.

    Re: Hi Beoworld!

Thanks Peter.. Yes, you're right, unfortunately Salisbury B&O has closed (as has my favourite dealer in Brighton & Hove, where I used to live), so I went to Wimborne Minster- and it was a truly first class experience!

I've heard of Spotify, but I'm yet to try it. I'll have to look into that!

    Cheers,

    Thomas

I thought the standard RRP for the BV8-40 was £3500 and, until tomorrow, ships with a free Beo5?

I do think the BV8-40 is the 'best buy' in the B&O TV range. Sound is improved over the BV8-26 or BV8-32 (and is close to the £2.1K 7.1), panel is way better than even the BV7-40 MKIII and it's a decent design. Free Beo5 is incredible as you don't get that when you buy a BV7 or BV9!
