    Newbie question: how can I use the MX4500 that I bought?

    Hi

     

    I bought this beautiful looking machine without researching its functionality well enough. Can it be made to work with a Freeview digibox? (It behaves very oddly at the moment...). Can I add SCART ports using a standard junction box? Is there a recognised source for good information on this beast?

    Any assistance gratefully received.

    Hello John and welcome to Beoworld. You should be able to use a Freeview box with you MX4500 with no problem at all. Although you will need a remote control. Do you have one? What do you mean by behaving oddly? Never tried using a standard Scart junction box, but I can't see any reason why not. We do have a copy of the user manual available to download for Silver or Gold members.

    Hi Peter

    I have to correct you there is only one scart on a mx4500 and no menu function to change av connections I think you mean mx4000/4002

    You could connect a HDR1 which had a STB-C in it... It could only control boxes that are on the STB-C list...

    My mistake - I thought it was an LX4500 - completely different machine! Ignore me!!
