    beolounge

    hi,

today i received a mail from b&o saying that my memebership would be upgraded !

" BeoLounge is our virtual living room designed for Bang & Olufsen enthusiasts. An interactive space filled with multi-sensory experiences. Watch videos, read inspiring articles, receive invites, win prizes, get personal VIP attention and much more.

BeoLounge will replace our current Bang & Olufsen Community, which will be closing down. At launch, simply log onto BeoLounge with your email and password."

i'm all up for personal vip attention, but i wonder what else will be in the beolounge. the user community was pretty staid.

    wait and see...

They have not invited me!! Laughing I used to go on quite a bit but had to change email as my beeb account closed and since then, don't visit that much. The old Courtyard was good but the forum has never really caught fire. Not that friendly and takes ages to get an answer, if at all. It needs to have some B&O input to make it special - that would be the one thing that would mark it apart from the enthusiast web site like Beoworld. However it would seem to be run in a hands off way which means it requires enthusiasts! And they are all here! Laughing

I suspect what they are really trying to do is get the community members from this site to become part of the oficial site. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

I wonder if they'll host regular threads where the mention of B&O or it's products are strictly prohibited?Laughing

I have a faint hope that the people in charge of music for the BeoSound 5 web page, and for B&O's main pages with music, will have nothing to do with music selections for BeoLounge ... Big Smile

Maybe like Playstation Home, you create your own virtual personality, virtual home with your B&O set-up, your furniture, art collection, cars......either you can afford it or not and other virtual users can visit you or vice versa and you can talk, exchange ideas...or even shop at B&O store (maybe pay virtually and do get the product delivered !!)...and B&O virtual sales person knocking on your door and offering you a deal that you can not turn down.....B&O CEO knock on your door to thank you for your great suggestion or apologize for your inconvenience...I can keep going...who want to continue..........

    Re: beolounge

I'm also not very "amused" by this change of style of the so-called "community" of the B&O website,

which has transformed into to a system that is dedicated solely into getting you into a store

by indexing what you do / read / have, and so on.

I doubt if they can do something even at 10% of Beoworld

Oh they could do Spiros, no question about that. The only problem is they have left it far too late and they know that. BeoWorld is already a very well established site with a strong community and that took years and a lot of effort to create. It continues to grow in many different ways. Lee had the foresight, B&O didn't, now the best they can do it work alongside BeoWorld and keep up good relations, but they'd love to have access to the stats and info here all to themselves, thats for sure. I quite like it being this way round actually, makes it much more interesting and competitive, which is always a good thing.

Agree, Peter. A Community run by a brand should be a gathering place where enthusiasts have their whims and needs catered to. B&O's use of the Community has been pretty sub-standard, with customers waiting for weeks to receive platitudes for answers, and with the forum being turned into advertising space.

Are you certain you wish to delete your account? Yes, I was.

    Re: beolounge

Just tried to find a PDF doc with MX8000 (not english!) on the B&O Website - looked in the lounge, too. Gave up after 50 seconds... This is not the way to offer support documents - you should find them within 10 seconds!

Even the search function on the website does not should results...

    A huge step backwards!

    Ralf

PS: At least I could get some english pdfs here Smile

What language do you want? And which document? We now have both the user and reference manual on in German.
