Any suggestions?

When I press the play or fast forward/rewind the tape head appears to engage but only for a second.

In short, the tape mechanismn trys to fuction but wont.

Common fault - you need new belts. Martin can provide them.

I purchased 2 new belts from Martin.

My very limited tech skills appear not to have worked.

I fitted the belts yesterday - the wider of the belts to the large grey spindle and the thinner to the white cog.

Wrong way round or just totally wrong??

You need to check with Martin on that one! Not needed to do mine yet!
