I had both pairs of my S45-2s next to each other yesterday, and it was immediately obvious that one pair of frets was much more faded than the other having turned grey rather than black. Has anyone tried using fabric dye or similar to return speaker frets to fully black?

I've used it on a number of occasions for cx's. I used a 'cold' fabric dye. Though I took the fabric of the frames and put them through a washer first as the dye sometimes will not stick on the dirty fabric otherwise and turn out blotchy.
