    Beomaster 5500 and my ipod.

i've just set up my dad's old Beomaster 5500 along with Beogram 5000, Beogram CD 50 and Beocord 5500.  I have 2 octagone shaped speakers with digital readouts.

    Everything is great.......

I am wondering though if a can somehow play my IPOD librairy by somehow hardwiring to the aux?!?!?!

Has anyone had any experience with regrads to this?????

As simple as you'd imagined! Either connect a dock to the tape or Aux inputs or, simpler still, connect the iPod headphone out to the tape or Aux inputs directly. I can't recall the rear connection types on the BM5500 but I connect my iPod to my BM5000 via a 3.5mm stereo Jack to pair phono lead and it works fine! Good luckLaughing

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

    Thank you.

I guess then i should take a picture of the inputs at the back of the Beo master and head over to the apple store and make sure the dock connector matches?

The 5500 has RCA plugs on the back. I would get an iPod dock and use that with a mini jack to twin RCA lead. If you get thye one from Ridax, it can be remote control. Or do it another way and attach your computer. That is what I do.

Thnks Peter.  I Really appreciate it.  While we're at it 2 more questions:

    1.  Radio is a little fuzzy.  Do you have a an antenna on yours i seem to remember there was some plastic bunny ear thing my dad usewd?!?!

    2.  Tuning/programming stations was always difficlut on this thing. It's been 20 years.  Are there online operating manuals i can look at?

    1. You need an aerial. A ribbon aerial is what you used to have - an outdoor one would be better but more expensive.

    2. Which remote do you have? There are manuals for the system on Beoworld but you need to be a silver or gold member.
