Reccomendation: BV7-40 III Monitor or BV7-40 III with DVD including upgrade to Bluray later

    Hello Team,

Need your input: Have ordered a BV7-40III Monitor due to the my current installation with beolink which is driven by my nice BC2. Yeah I like the BC2 functionality very much. One room can use one source while another room using another source!

I now got "an offer you cant refuse: for a fair, and applicable higher price instead have a BV7-40 III with DVD with a later free ugrade to Blueray when it is released"

The trick is I still question to replace the BC2 or have the "double" DVD/Blueray and a BC2 in the same system. I don't expect to move from my nice Norweigan home for a couple more years.

Please advise all views of this

    Hello MGBGTV8,

The price dfference has been covered in this thread: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/23382/174474.aspx#174474

What I'm looking for is this comm. thoughts on having "double" dvd's (BV7-40 and BC2) in the same beolink setup. Or if it's best to go for the Monitor and stay with BC2.

On the Pros: I get the possible upgrade to Bluray.  (see separate thread)

On the negative side: Price, Possible problems to link/work with 2 dvd in the same system... Any clues?

    thanks

    Hello,

If the money issue, is not a big problem for you, then I would recommend the DVD/BLUE ray version!

You mention that you like, that with the BeoCenter 2 you can play 2 different sources over the link. The same would be possible if you choose the DVD version, then you can see one dvd in your main, and another in a link room. Or even use the split screen on the BV7, and watch 2 different DVD's. There should not be any problems regarding your link, this has been done many times.

    Hello Kenny,

If I remembered correctly I think I've seen a topic covering some conflict between BC2 in the same setup with BV7-40. I.e if you select cd/dvd from a linked room it will select the BV7-40 and start showing that on the BV regardless if some one is watching something else on it already. Thus not adhere to what you might be used to via the BC2: Kick start Dvd, start send that source over the link to that equipment that you have in that linked room your are in, meanwhile letting the original sourced equipment be undisturbed/unchanged!

Maybe someone with a better tech skills than me can advice/correct me here...

    Hello Kenny again,

PLease have a look at my other post, I guess it answers or states a direction for you, Go for the Monitor and 3rd party BR, save the money for another B&O purchase later! The BV7-40 BR is just an exception... accordingly to the board.

You can find it here: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/24647.aspx
