    Crazy BS9000 problem

I really hope someone here can help.  I have a pair of headphones with a 1/4 " phono plug.  I wanted to listen to them through the BS 9000 so I got an adapter to convert the phono plug to a 1/8" plug.  Worked fine the first few times until tonite.  Now the damn adapter is stuck in the phono jack of the BS9000 and no matter what I do I can't get it out.  Now I can't listen to my Beolab 5s through the 9000 because it's sensing the adapter still in the phone jack.  No signal is sent to the speakers.

Does anyone know of a way to possibly get get a stuck plug out of the 9000's jack?

Is there a way of bypassing the phono jack and getting a signal to the speakers?

I'm going nuts here.  Thanks for any advice.

You could put the speakers in option 2 and disconnect the PowerLink using only the S/PDIF. A temporary work-around.

Watch it though as the speakers won't be synchronized so could end up running at different volumes.

Have you tried a pair of pliers?

You could try spraying a bit of WD-40 into the socket to loosen the plug out but do this only with all the power cables unplugged for at least 15 minutes beforehand. Don't turn it on again until it has completly dried out.

    All the best,
    Simon.

I personally wouldn't - WD40 drives out moisture and tends to make jack sockets go 'squeeky', although I've never tried it on a 1/8" jack, only 1/4" jacks. I can't see why a 1/8" jack should be any different.

    Actually, problem solved.

My pregnant wife got sick of me moping around so she yanked the damn thing out herself with a pair of pliers.  Now everything works fine and I'm ecstatic to get my system back.

At the same time, I feel like a complete doofus.

    Thanks all for the advice.
