Avant 32VTR goes Avant "DVD" Project finished

Ok at last my project is done. I have Avant 32 vtr and I pulled out the VTR and swap it to a stripped DVD1

All works great except "Eject" button. I tried to use "eject" button at the panel but I cant get it work properly.

So I use the original button from DVD1 as you can see in one of the pictures

I know I can use Beo5 to eject but I want to use my Beo4 Cinema

So come one and have som opinionYes - thumbs up

I like these experiments very muchYes - thumbs up. I have dreamed of converting a Beocenter AV5 into DVD capable TV, just because I like the opening speakers a lot.

Is the DVD controlled via the SCART?

I've never had my hands on a DVD1, so I don't know - where is the eject button?

Very nice! Like it! Like to do the same....

Is it the DVD1´s original cabinett or did you use the cabinett of the VTR?

If I remember right, the space is not that big.

I have stripped DVD1 of all plastic parts. I had to move scart and power connector to fit it

    Pretty easy!

Nice Idea Yes - thumbs up

But what about the dust you'll get?

As you may have noticed there was a lot of dust on the top cover of the VTR.

So, as I see the open surrounding of the DVD unit/laser, I think it will only work for a short time.

Next step, replace the dolby surround module with a DD/DTS version? (Only type 8300 or higher)

    Well done Anders!
The price difference between an Avant VCR and an Avant DVD makes this a worthwhile option.
Good luck with the eject issue and the dust one.

    Poor me, never win owt!

The DVD was put at the top of the avant because the designers wanted the user to be comfortable when loading a disc, no bending down.

I agree that this is a fantastic budget soloution.
