I can bring everything to standby (link, audio and video) by pressing shift>standby on a BL1000 - How is this done on a Beo4?
Just hold the red dot-button pressed for some seconds. The same goes with BL 1000.
Beovision LX5500, BeoCord V6000, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 3500, BeoLab 2000, BeoVox1, BeoCom 6000, Form1, LightControl 1
... or <SHIFT> <STANDBY> on Beo4
shift>standby does not work using my beo4. Holding the red button does though - a useful tip and not something I remember reading in the BL1000 or beo4 manuals.
Many Thanks
David
Nearly annoying as mute on the BEO4, took me about 5 years to work that one out, although it probably is in the manual!
Yes, mute is very clumsy on the Beo4 even when you know where it is - unlike the BL1000.
Beo4 loses the ability to change from audio to video (and vice versa) sources quickly for volume/muting purposes which can be done using the BL1000 AV button. If there's a Beo4 short cut tip for this I'd be very interested.
Get the Beo4 model with the AV button!
Mute is even worse on Beo5, unless you have a supersonic thumb.
Poor me, never win owt!
<AV> is on Beo4
Jandyt: Get the Beo4 model with the AV button!
It's still in a very awkward place for this purpose, compared to Beolink 1000. With a BL1000, you don't have to move the remote in your hand (or use two hands...).

...But the AV button on the beo4 does not work in the same way so cannot be used for this function. A source button has to be used to change mode for volume and muting - again as Tournedos says you have to use two hands or move the remote because these are all at the top.
list>link>source is yet another awkward one. BL1000 had link right in the middle of the source buttons - quicker and easier to use
