    Avant and Sky+ again

Is it possible to set up the Avant to turn off  the TV only when in SAT. When I turn off in SAT it also sets the STB to standby!

    Thanks

    Jonnie,

It is possible, BUT only if you have one of the following products:-

    BeoVision 3 - 32 MK III
    BeoVision 5 - 42 MK III
BeoVision Avant - 32 DVD MK III
    BeoSystem 2 MK II
    BeoSystem 1 MK II

AND they have TV software version 15.1 or above.

If you do have 15.1 or above then you can have soft standby setup on STB :
This feature means that you can decide when, or if, your STB should enter Standby, and the setup of this function is very dependent on your type of STB.

After selection of STB type, the following menu is shown
The contents depends on whether one or two STBs are connected.
    The example shows 2 STBs.

    STB(SAT) off  STB(V.AUX) off
At TV standby  After 30 min

It is possible to choose between: After 0 min  OR After 30 min OR  At TV standby OR Never

"Never" meaning that not even ALL STANDBY will shut off the STB.

    Regards Keith....

Why? I have a Sky+ box attached to my Avant DVD - it is the Phillips DVD type - and I can control the Sky+ box in all my link rooms with the Avant off. What are you wanting to do?

    Peter,

Did one of us misunderstand his "Problem Statement" you are correct in your statement, but I thought he is talking about leaving the STB on when he switches the TV off.

    I'll give an example.

At night when watching SKY+, if i decide to continue watching something in the bedroom and want to pause SKY and resume upstairs, it wouldn't be possible with older software. (SKY+ would go into standby)

I updated my software for this reason and have it set to "OFF AFTER 30 MINS"

It would be easier if the Sky+ box just stayed on. I have it linked into the kitchen so have to switch it back on in there, not a big problem but would like to solve it.

    Re: Avant and Sky+ again

Another issue is that the STB does not always come on with the TV so I have manually switch it on at the rear of the Avant. Bit of a pain No - thumbs down

    Re: Avant and Sky+ again

    Yo give this a bump!!!

It is a pain now to be honest.  I switch on the none B&O tv in the kitchen and switch on the SKY+ via infra eye no problem until say. My wife switches on the Avant in the lounge with SAT button, this turns on the TV but switches off the Sky box at the same timeSuper Angry

Is there a pin in the scart that can be removed that commands this problem?

    Re: Avant and Sky+ again

Hi Jonnie. I'm sure there is a pin in the scart that can be disconnected, but then the STB will never come on when your wife presses Sat in the lounge.
As for the problem on the post before, sometimes my Sky box doesn't come on when I press Sat. Instead of getting up and turning it on manually behind the Avant, I just press Menu, 1. This always makes the box fire up. Not perfect, but I can live with it.
