Another B&O issue :-(

Was watching a non-B&O DVD on my BeoVision 1 when the picture went and all I can see is some regular (but not on every line) black and white squiggly lines.

When I switch to DVD it changes slightly and then when I press Meny I get about 4 blue oblong boxes along the top of the screen.

Anyone got any ides?

Based on your "Problem Statement" it sounds like the Vertical scan oscillator has failed.

Switch the TV off for 5 minutes and then switch it on to an analogue channel even if you have no aerial or signal. What do you have on the screen now. Please provide as much detail as possible.
