I am about to get my Mk 3 7 40 inch updated with the latest software and he has asked for the serial number of the TV however i have a close wall bracket and therfore cannot see the back of the TV.  Is there any way i can find out this in some service menu somewhere.  Thanks in advance.

In the (customer) service menue ...

It just says monitor, Tv Tuner and DVD in the service menu.  The monitor information has a serial number, is that the one the engineer is after?

The software will be updated using the service tool. You will need access to the rear of the TV for this so it will have to come off anyway.

I can't see why he requires the s/n because it should be selected from the software on the engineers laptop.

Having said that, the serial number will be 8 digits long (iirc) and can definitely be found under monitor settings in the service menu (again, 'iirc' - It's been a while... :) )

Then it seems i have sent him the correct serial number  as it is 8 digits long.  not sure what he wants it for?

maybe he just wants to see if it is still under guarantee or if the sw has been updated before..... its easier than asking the customer sometimes

I'm not sure but he is going to get back to me with a quote for the software update so I will ask him then just out of curiosityI am pretty sure your correct though

The Serial Number of your Mk3 will start with 20, 21 or possibly (if it's been stood around at Struer!) 22 - for guidance
