    Faulty bass on Beovox S60

I helped a friend with a old speaker the other day, he said the bass was weak on one of the speakers, so we opened it up and found that the 25cm SEAS woofer was rusty on the magnet and some of the chassie, while the woofer in the other speaker fas fine and worked nicely. I recon the rust have corrupted the copper-threads inside, making the woofer less powerfull. Have any of you expecirenced anything like this with a 30 years old speaker?

More likely to be a capacitor problem I think. I've seen many cases where dried out caps made one speaker "heavier" to drive than the other.

If you are unsure, swap the woofers to help diagnosing.

aha, yes, I can just swop the drive units. However, i think my friend have accepted that they are not as good as they used to be. He uses them with a beomaster 2000 (70'ies model) and a Thorens MK320 turntable, very nice sounding all in all.
