My father has a Beocentre 9000 and the radio has just ceased to work, all you hear is static. I have confirmed that the ariel is ok and have re-tuned all the station to no avail.

Any ideas please ?

Afraid that sounds like a component failure and will require a trip to the service department. It could be as little as one capacitor though it is impossible to diagnose on the net.

Thank you Peter, that's what I feared, still the set is over 20 years old now so hasn't done bad - still looks brand new.
