Combined DVBT, DVBS set top box via Beo4

    Good afternoon fellow Beoworlders,

Does anyone know of a combined DVB-T DVB-S set top box that can work via the PUC on a Beo4?

I have seen a Humax combo 9000 and a Skymax box that have both satellite and terrestial tuners, but are not on the list. Would be really grateful if anyone can oblige!

    Thanks.

STB's which support both DVB-T and DVB-S in the same unit are a fairly recent innovation and I believe the Humax combo 9000 only came out in 2007.

Add to this, that generally speaking most users who have satellite such as Sky tend not to have DVB-T unless it is built into the TV itself and equally if you have DVB-T you are less likely to have DVB-S as well.

Also, considering that B&O produces a combined DVB-T and DVB-S unit as shown below, then B&O are less likely to produce the codes for the PUC for any STB combo unit unless the customer was prepared to pay for it in my view.

HOWEVER, if you wish to purchase a combo DVB-T and DVB-S unit, then you could purchase a Beo5 and control it directly which would not require a PUC update.

    Regards Keith....

I am right that the B&O combined DVB-T DVB-S unit is only in the BeoSystem 3 derived products or is there one for Bvis 7 32" and Avant chassis products?

    Thanks Keith.

You are correct that the combined unit is only available for Beosystem 3 based products.
