    Beovision 8800 spare parts required

I have an old Beovision 8800 (circa 30 years old) that until recently was working perfectly. It has developed a fault where it becomes difficult to tune in, wiggling the aerial cable jumping between snow on the screen and a very blurry image. It picks up sound ok.

It has been in to an offical B&O repair centre and they tightened the coax plug, but say the problem is with the tuner, and they can not source spares. Does anyone know of a way that I could get the set repaired? I understand that it is beyond economical repair, but holds sentimental value, looks good (if a bit retro), and has great image when it works.

Die Bogener Martin would properly know.

After reading his great post on MX/LX I think that tuner board needs to be cleaned and fresh capistors.

Your B&O repair just want to exchange the board instead of finding the fault on it.

As for the value its better to go with the LX/MX range.

Hi and welcome to Beoworld !  Yes - thumbs up

What you have is definitely one of the nicer of the older models. I understand that you would like to keep it going and I am almost sure that someone with quite a bit more knowledge regarding TV's than I, will be with you shortly. Die_Bogener, as Friedmett suggests but Tim and Nick also springs to mind.

    Martin
