    BeoSound 9000 and digital radio

Does somebody know if radio is distributed to BeoSound 9000 will it also be distributed this way in the future or will also cable distributed radio go digital?

Re: BeoSound 9000 and digital radio

I'm not sure I understand your qustion but I will give it a try.

All BeoSound 9000 have a FM tuner (analogue radio through the air). The new model since june 2001 can acces net radio (digital radion through Internet on an extern computer). Older models can be updated.

No BeoSound 9000 is equipped with DAB tuner (Digital radio through the air) unlike some other BeoSound models, and I think they never will be.

DAB is foreseeing a very unsecure future. The sound quality is not always good and some countries (like Sweden) has canceled DAB-radio and stay with FM. Also it will be more and more commen to use Net radio instead.

I don't know anything about radio through cable, but some radio stations can be accesed with a DVB-T (at least in Sweden).

Here in Slovenia I get FM radio via cable (it is analogue), but I think also when radio signal is broadcasted digital and then distributed via cable in can only be analogue.

Why couldn't the signal be digital?

TV's signal is digital and transfered on the same old coaxial cables that used to transport analogue signals.
