    BeoCenter 8500 no sound output

    Hi,

Seem to have a problem with 8500 sound. The powerlink sockets distribute sound no problem. The BeoVox don't seem to be getting anything just dead through th Speakers 1 R & L. All functions light and I have tried the speakers on another system and they are OK. Any ideas???

Hi, sounds like you have the same bug as I. See silent 6500. Will be interested to see your fix.
By the time I have money to burn all the fires will have gone out

Try it with the passive speakers plugged in to Spk2 sockets. If they work now then this points to a knackered Mute relay.

If they still don't work then you could have a blown a fuse on the power amp board. This is the board which is vertical and runs along the back of the unit just inboard of the heat sinks. There are two fuses towards the end of the board near the speaker outlets.

    Good Luck

    Regards Graham
