Batteries in the BeoLink 7000 are intended to be changed by an authorised service center only.  You'll have a merry timetrying to get them for yourself, and then soldering them in.

If you are handy with a soldering iron it isn't too difficult. I have done this successfully - as have other beoworld members. Simply buy a compatible AA 4 cell battery pack, There is nothing special about the original Ni Cad pack fitted to these, try searching ebay for battery packs intended for rechargible remote control model cars etc.....

Agreed. Mine has a new battery set in - we used the 1000mAh ones from Maplins as the original batteries are 600mAh or similar. We were not sure that the charger would like the types available now - 2000mAh and higher - so chose the smallest value available. They work perfectly. Cost was about £10 for a packet of 12 I think and I had a lot of spare batteries!!

As far as I remember there are 5 cells in the battery pack?

You'd better hurry and buy your replacement NiCads soon.... If you're in the EU then the sale of these are being restricted under a new directive, as of the 26th of last month!

I'm not sure if NiMH can be swapped in as an alternative without modifications to the charging circuit.

    Embarrassed

OOPS, yes there are 5 Ridax. I'm fairly confident that someone has successfully done this using NiMH batteries too.

    I'm getting old.
