I currently own BV7 and have recently purchased both a PS3 and a Apple TV but i am having problems with the digital output from both machines.  I have connected the PS3 via a HDMI to DVI and the audio from digtal out from the PS3 to a digital coaxial coveter then into A1 and my BV7.  I get the picture no problems but the sound only works with films and games and i get no sound from the cross media bar where i have placed various small movies and mp3 tracks.  I have already changed the PS3 once and i get the same result from the new one.  The PS3 works ok as i have tried it with the scart lead and i get all the goodies which have been loaded onto the PS3 hard drive.  I have tried various configurations but to no avail.  Am i doing something wrong or what?  The apple TV is plugged into the tv via component leads but the digtal out via a coaxial converter does not work.  I have now plugged the audio into the A4 left and right audio.Has anyone had any snags like this or is my TV laughing at me because its on the blink.  The blue ray films and games are awsome and the sound is hoofing but i get no cross media sound and the apple tv is one excellent piece of kit but again i get no sound via the digital out.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Sheerman

Ola,      Many thanks for your reply.  I was hoping it was something else.  How do you select 2 audio inputs on the connections tab in the menu function.  It their a software upgrade avaliable for this?  Is their a converter avaliable to convert this to AC3 sound format.  B & O have lost my confidence on this one.  I am gutted as the TV is less than a year old.  I intend to contact my dealer and ask for options that he maybe be able to achieve.Once again Ola thank you for your help.Sheerman

Thanks Ola that works ok via the A4 port for audio sound analoge and A4 for digital.  My other problem is that i get the same with my Sony PS3 so i am back to square one again.  The PS3 has again multiple outputs but i can play blue ray films and games on it with sound but when it goes to the media bar i get no sound.  If i turn on the sound to come out of analoge port on the PS3 i don't get digital output and so no sound for the full DTS.  I can attach this the component leads.  Am going to look into the port settings on the PS3 to see if it can put out 2 audio outputs.  This aside how do i plug in another set of analoge leads to the TV.Once again thanks for your help OlaCarl

HELP.  Audio problems.  My PS3 used to work fine with my Avant 32 - PS3 optical out to SPDIF to Avant.  After a software update on the PS3 I not longer have any sound.  Please can you tell me how to fix this.

I have had the very same problem, but with my BV6. I didnt realse this was a software upgrade fault, i though it was me messing with the wires again!! hopefully it will be fixed in the next software update, i will have a look on the PS3 forums for any clues.

until i lost the digital sound (see above) you have to manully select which sound output on the PS3 each time you want to watch a film or play a game. You have the same issues that i have on my BV6 26.

Good news - I upgraded the PS3 to 2.42 and changed all settings to those recommended here and now it works again.  Does anyone know how to get an AppleTV to pass sound to an Avant via the optical output?
