    Beogram 1602 Dustcover Installation

I decided to restore the dustcover of my Beogram 1602 and believing that this straight forward turntable should not be too difficult in removal  of the dustcover, I proceeded.

Wrong, with the screws loosened, the clips FLEW off and now I am having a terrible time trying to get the dustcover back in place.

The dustcover now looks most presentable, but I simply can not get the dustcover back where it needs to be.

Is there any secret to how this can best be accomplished? I have the manual but it is of little real help. Give me a 4000 series anytime as they are so much easier to work on!

You are not alone with this discovery, Jeff.

Start at the center and mount the center plastic holder.

For the sides, do one side at a time, let the spring hang on the outside of the groove at the lid, mount the holder and lift/rotate the spring into place using pliers.

A 2-minute job when you know how.

    Re: Beogram 1602 Dustcover Installation

Thanks Martin, as always for the information.

I don’t know if what I did was a good idea or a waste of time that just happened to work, however in complete frustration I decided to take off the entire back panel and then attempt to assemble the dustcover lid.

With the back panel off, getting everything together was a lot easier. I had literally been struggling for 3 hours trying to get everything back together…. it was a lot like trying to grab Jell-O, but with the back panel off, it took only a few minutes to assemble the dustcover and spring.
