Automatic arm on BG 3000 (SP version)

    HI guys

Seeing as everyone was so helpful on my last enquiry, and thank you to those who were, another question please.

I have a BG 3000, and when I press "lift" the turntable spins fine but the arm does not perform its automatic function.  Is there a belt that moves this and if so where would I find replacement please.

Coudl you also give me some idea of how difficult this is for me to replace by hand or if I should take ti to a specialist??

I have been a long time B&O collector but have never delved inside to the workings before.

    Thanks

Have you got the control set to Automatic? If in Manual, the deck will spin but the arm will not move. There is a cam mechanism which works the automatic functions - quite complicated - the service manual is on site for silver and gold members and details all the functions if that is helpful.

I agree. Many owners don't have the manual and rotating the control to "manual" turns on the platter motor (for cleaning records etc.) so seems to be the way to start it but it's really not.

Leave it at "automatic", place a record on the platter and just press lift.

OK, I am coming back on this one with a really daft question, the control for this has two "teeth" sticking up.  The automatic setting is at 12 o'clock, the manual setting is at 6 o'clock.  How do I know which is set to which? Each one of the "teeth" matches one of the settings when in position.  I can get it to rotate freely for the cleaning part, but the lift still does not move the stylus arm.  Thanks Sean
