    Avant as a link TV

I have a 32" Avant that is being used as a link TV - on Radio and CD the sound is perfect. When I press DTV the sound is quite tiny and doesn't seem right, if I tune the TV to the frequency of the Sky box the sound is also just as bad. If I press LINK-AV then DTV the sound is perfect.

I have two questions - is there a way of getting the TV to default to LINK-AV when pressing DTV, DVD or V.Mem? or is there something wrong with the Modulator in the other Avant or are the settings for the Tuner wrong in the one with the problem? Does anyone know what these should be - both are set to I for system and the settings are the same in the set-up menue for the tuner.

Re: Avant as a link TV

I found this on the forum:

"It is certainly possible to have the Beo4 in permanent link mode provided your Beo5 provided your Beo4 software is at least at version 5.0 or later.

When it is this mode it will send the "Link" command in front of every command with teh exception of pressing the "TEXT" button.

To put the Beo4 in Link mode follow these steps:-

Press STANDBY and LIST button at the same time

Press up/down until the display shows "CONFIG"

Press 2, 0, 0, 2 and then the display will show "LINK ON"

    Then press EXIT

Use the same sequence to make the Beo4 show "LINK OFF" in the display

NOTE: When the Beo4 is put into link-mode it will only be able to control TV's which are set to Option 4"

Thanks for the replies - my avant is a curved screen one so may not be able to handle option 4 - I'll try it though.

I tried setting the Beo4 to option 4 but it didn't work - how do I find out what software version it has?

Re: Avant as a link TV

    hi

i currently have an MX4002 as my link TV and was thinking of replacing with an Avant so i get decent sound with it as well, now i dont mind pressing a few buttons to get DVD, DAB or CD form the downstairs Beocenter 2, or Sky from thr downstairs. so my question is, will any old avant do for this situation, ie just used like a MX4002 ?
