    Linking BV6-22 to a BV7-40 Question

     Just some quick Beolink questions:

    I want to connect a BV6-22 (Bedroom) to a BV7-40 (living room).

Do I have to wire only the Master Link cable from the 7-40 to the 6-22 or is also an aerial cable to the 6-22 needed

    to watch normal TV?

As my BS9000 is already linked to the BV7-40, how do I add the BV6-22 to the setup?

Last question: Any experience with the 6-22 you have to share (Good / Bad) … Have not bought the 6-22 yet, but I’m just one step away from doing it…

    Best regards

    Stephan

P.S. Haven’t done anything with Beolink (except linked the BS9000 to the TV) so if the questions are silly … pls don’t mind :-)

    Re: Linking BV6-22 to a BV7-40 Question

Connect your BV6-22 via masterlink and aerial cable. You will also need the RF link amplifier (about 80-100 Euro). Set your BV6-22 to V.OPT 6.

Now you have access to audio- and video sources in your mainroom.

    I have exactly the same set up : BV7-40 - BS9000 - BS5 - BV6-22  and everything works really great.

    Hope this helps

    Re: Linking BV6-22 to a BV7-40 Question

I have a Mac Mini connected to my BV7-40, if I only plug in the Master Link cable, will the 6-22 display the source sended from the Mini (e.g. DVD or streamed contend) ?

So I guess from your posting you'd recommend the BV6-22 as a link room TV.... Just asking because I've read a lot of "cons" and a few "pros" about the 6-22...

P.S. Nearly the same setup, nearly the same name :-)

    Re: Linking BV6-22 to a BV7-40 Question

You need a Masterlink cable (to transfer sound and data/commands) AND a aerial cable for the video.

An aerial cable comes from the roof and goes to the B&O RF Amplifier (a box that you'll need), and then a short aerial cable goes to the BV7 and then another short cable comes out of the BV7 and goes back to the RF Amplifier. Then long aerial cable goes to your BV6.

Regarding the Mac mini, HD sources cannot be transfered to link room, so you'll need to find a way to connect the mac mini to the DVI and the Scart of your BV7, if you want to distribute the picture to the BV6.

No. Masterlink will just send audio and datalink signals - for controling the mainroom devices. Picture will be sent via aerial - and audio (mono) in videomode. If your mac mini is connected via composite to your BV7-40 this will work, if it`s HDMI there are workarounds...http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/28390.aspx

Yes. For me it`s a nice linkroom TV - not only for watching TV...

"P.S. Nearly the same setup, nearly the same name "

    Yes, and the same country.....
